Santi Cazorla claims Iker Casillas is a target for Arsenal and has urged his Spain team-mate to join the Premier League club.

Casillas has spent his entire career at the Bernabeu, but the 32-year-old has been linked with a move having not featured in La Liga at all this season after making only 19 appearances in the Spanish top flight in the 2012-13 campaign.

The Spain number one does feature for Real in cup competitions, but speculation over his future continues to surface and he recently admitted that he would not rule out a new challenge when his contract expires in 2017.

Cazorla claims Casillas has quizzed him about his time in England and the midfielder hopes to persuade the Real legend to move to London.

He told Sport360: “I’ve told him (I want him to join Arsenal), but so far he has just been curious about my experience in England.

“His situation is very complicated, but he has to make a decision.

“Lots of clubs want him, including Arsenal, but I think that it would be very difficult to leave Real Madrid because of what the club represents.

“He knows what he has (at Madrid) and what he could find at another club.”
