Competition: Champions League
Market: Celtic to win against FC Astana
Odds: 12/5 @ Bet 365

Celtic travel to the Astana Arena to face FC Astana in the first leg of the third round of tonight’s Champions League qualifier, and are favourites to win the away clash to put one foot in the playoffs.

FC Astana lead the Kazakhstan Premier League with 53 points from 21 games, and have a fantastic home record ahead of tonight’s meeting with Celtic, boasting 10 wins from 11 in their own backyard. Astana have won their last three league games overall too and are sure to put up some resistance this evening.

Opponents Celtic booked their place in the Champions League qualifiers this summer after storming to the Scottish Premiership title last season. Their record on the road was impressive too, losing just three of their 19 away games in the league so they’ll fancy their chances in the first leg.

Astana’s lack of European pedigree might see them fall short, with the 96th-ranked side failing to win a Champions League group game last season. But the 54th ranked Celtic have played in the group stages or further in European competition in every season since the millennium.

The Bhoys made the last-32 of the Europa League only two years ago, and are being backed with odds of 12/5 to win against Astana.
