Bordeaux-striker Marouane Chamakh will extend his contract within a few days.

The 25-year-old earlier said that he didn’t want to extend his contract with the French side but he has changed his mind, according to French media. Chamakh’s contract with Bordeaux ends next summer.

The Moroccan international will sign a new contract till 2012 under certain conditions. The deal contains a relatively low transfer fee so that interested clubs will be able to sign Chamakh a lot easier.

Earlier this summer, a transfer to the Premier League (Arsenal and West Ham United were interested) was impossible due to Chamakh’s high transfer fee of € 17 million.
