Bolton consigned Blackburn to a second home defeat in four days with a sterling 2-1 victory at Ewood Park on Wednesday.

Kevin Davies gave Bolton an early lead when he guided home Chris Eagles’ cross just three minutes in and the visitors spurned further chances through Liverpool loanee Jay Spearing and Keith Andrews before half time.

Conversely, Rovers managed just the one shot on target before the interval.

Dougie Freedman’s side continued to press after the break and doubled their lead just after the hour-mark through South Korean winger Lee Chung-Yong .

Paul Robinson could only tip Eagles’ free-kick onto the post, but Lee reacted quickest to fire the rebound home.

Blackburn reduced the deficit through Jordan Rhodes’ header but it wasn’t enough to prevent another home defeat.

Bolton move up to 17th with 25 points while Blackburn fall to 10th on 28 points.
