Hull City climbed to second on the Championship table with a 2-1 win at Derby County on Friday.
Steve Bruce’s side moved into the automatic promotion spots with their fourth win in a row, three of which have been 2-1 results away from home.
Slovenian midfielder Robert Koren opened the scoring at Pride Park and it looked like his 25th-minute effort would be enough to give Hull the lead at half-time.
But Michael Jacobs had other ideas and his goal, scored in stoppage time, levelled proceedings at the break.
Senegalese defender Abdoulaye Faye quickly responded, five minutes into the second half, and his goal was enough to give Hull victory.
The other match on Friday saw Wolves win 2-1 at Blackpool, a result that lifts them up to 13th on the table.
Sylvan Ebanks-Blake got the opener for the winners after just three minutes and his second goal, which came with 18 minutes remaining, looked to have sealed the result.
Alex Baptiste’s 89th-minute goal for Blackpool gave Wolves boss Stale Solbakken some nervous moments towards the end but his side held on for their third win in their last four matches.
