Wolverhampton scored late on to earn a 1-1 draw at home to Watford, while Crystal Palace won away at Derby in the Championship.

Watford were mere seconds from securing a win that would have consolidated their standing in the top two in the table via a 41st minute strike from Almen Abdi.

But in the third minute of second-half injury time, Bakary Sako sent the Molineux faithful into raptures with an equaliser to give Wolves hope of salvation from their dire predicament.

Dean Saunders’ men still remain in the relegation zone in 22nd spot, but are one point behind Barnsley, who occupy the final safe spot in 21st.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace closed to within two points of Watford as they consolidated fourth spot with a 1-0 win at Pride Park.

Yannick Bolasie was on target for the visitors, who left the Rams in 12th spot on the table, and susceptible to a fall to as low as 17th by the time the weekend’s out.

Derby are now winless in their past six matches, while Palace have won three of their past four.
