Chelsea 1/6 to see past Maribor in Champions League Group G meeting tonight

Chelsea are expecting to get all three points against Maribor tonight to maintain their lead at the top of Group G. The Blues are two points ahead of this evening’s opponents and German Bundesliga side Schalke, now managed by former Chelsea head coach Roberto Di Matteo.

Jose Mourinho was the permanent successor to Di Matteo, and he has turned the club around. This season, Chelsea are top of the Premier League, five points clear of second place. In the Champions League, they look capable of going all the way, with their squad considerably strengthened in the summer.

But Maribor will still present somewhat of a challenge. The Slovenian side are third in their domestic league, averaging two points per game. It’s a tricky task playing at Stamford Bridge, however, as Chelsea are unbeaten on home soil this season.

As a result, Coral are giving odds of 1/6 for the Londoners to get all three points against Maribor tonight, which could see Chelsea go five points clear ahead of second-place depending on other results.
