Chelsea and Man City dealt transfer blow

Talk Sport is today reporting that highly-rated striker Radamel Falcao is happy with his currently employers  and has no intention of leaving any time soon.

The Colombian has had a remarkable season in La Liga so far, notching 16 goals in the Spanish top flight and scoring five against Deportivo La Coruna last weekend.

This form has not been going unnoticed either, with two of the richest clubs in the world, Manchester City and Chelsea both apparently keen on bringing him to the English Premier League.

It was thought they were both ready to offer the Europa League champions a massive £40 million for Falcao’s services, but his latest comments might have put a dent in their hopes to land him.

He said: “I am enjoying myself here. I have a three-year contract with Atletico.

“I dreamed of doing this, but I didn’t know if I could. It has exceeded my expectations. I’m very comfortable here.”

Of course this does not mean it is certain that he will stay with Atletico in the January transfer window, but it does look as though he wants to help them challenge Barcelona for the La Liga title this campaign.

The Spanish club will do all they can to keep him on their books as well, so Falcao might be staying put for a while yet.
