John Terry will end his career-long association with Chelsea at the end of the season, and Harry Arter would like to see him join Bournemouth.

Chelsea captain Terry’s impending departure was announced in April, with his 22 years at Stamford Bridge set to come to an end when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 36-year-old has expressed a desire to continue playing, with the likes of Crystal Palace, Swansea City and West Ham all linked to his signature, while a move to MLS has also been mooted.

Arter says Terry would be welcome on the south coast, suggesting he can help Bournemouth establish themselves as a mainstay of the Premier League.

“I think the way the way we have progressed, we are a club on the up. We are looking to improve every year and the only way we will do that is by getting good players in,” Arter told the Bournemouth Echo.

“If John is interested in coming here then I have no doubt the club would love to bring him in.

“I am sure he will have plenty of people interested in him but if it is something both parties want to do then, hopefully, it will happen.”

Bournemouth sit 13th in the Premier League, seven points clear of the bottom three.
