Chelsea eyeing Colombian striker

Premier League high-flyers Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Sampdoria forward Luis Muriel, Don Balon has suggested.

The Blues are not exactly spoilt for options up front and it appears that they want the Colombian to improve their attack.

Antonio Conte knows Muriel well from his time in Italian Serie A and he seems determined to bring the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge.

The Colombia international didn’t quite manage to realise his potential as he had a great start to his career at Udinese, but has since experienced some problems at Sampdoria.

Muriel could only muster 14 goals in 60 Serie A outings for the Blucerchiati, but it appears that he has done enough to catch the eye of the Premier League giants.

Operating mostly as a winger, Muriel made 7 appearances for Colombia in the 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign, but he could lose his place in the side now that Radamel Falcao has returned.
