Chelsea eyeing Hernandez move

Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez, according to the Express.

The Mexico international moved to the Bundesliga outfit in the summer having spent last season on loan at Real Madrid from Manchester United.

During his time with the Red Devils, Hernandez racked up one hundred and fifty-seven appearances in all competitions, scoring fifty-nine goals while he was part of the squads that won the Premier League title in both 2011 and 2013.

Having made just seven La Liga starts last season, the twenty-seven year old opted to pen a deal with Leverkusen back in August and he has impressed with ten goals already this season.

Chelsea are on the lookout for a new striker after a poor start to their title defence, which has seen their current selection of forwards – Diego Costa, Pedro, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao – score just four league goals between them.
