Chelsea eyeing Song swoop

Chelsea are readying a bid for Alex Song as they look to bring in back up for Nemanja Matic, according to the Express.

The Cameroon international has been on loan at West Ham United from Barcelona since the summer, and has racked up twenty-five games in all competitions for Sam Allardyce’s side.

He was one of the stand out performers for the Hammers in the first half of the season, and whilst his, and the East London’s side’s form has tailed off in recent months, Jose Mourinho is keen to bring him in.

In his first two seasons with Barcelona, Song played sixty-four times for Barcelona, and was part of the squad that won La Liga in 2013 and the UEFA Super Cup the following year.

Prior to moving to Spain, the 27 year old spent seven years with Arsenal having signed for them initially on loan from French side Bastia.
