Chelsea had bid rejected for Alex Telles

Premier League holders Chelsea made a late bid for FC Porto full-back Alex Telles, according to Record.

The Blues were in the market for a new left-sided defender and they reportedly offered €20 million for the Brazilian footballer.

However, The 25-year-old had no intention of leaving the Dragons midway through the season and the proposal was eventually rejected.

Chelsea then went on to splash €20 million on AS Roma full-back Emerson, while Alex Telles will be hoping for a big club move at the end of the season.

The former Galatasaray left-back, who also enjoyed a loan spell with Inter Milan, has so far made 53 league appearances for FC Porto.
