Chelsea stars Michael Essien and Petr Cech have signed new contract with the London outfit in the past few days and now Peter Kenyon says that Chelsea are one signature away from having the perfect squad.
“There is still a long way to go, but we are very interested [in Robinho] and the clubs are in dialogue. We have got a fantastic squad and I think the coach was just looking for one more to complete what he thinks is the perfect squad,” said Kenyon, according to The Telegraph.
Rumours have been going around this summer that Robinho will not be allowed to leave Real Madrid unless the club can sign suitable replacement – more precisely Cristiano Ronaldo. But Kenyon seems to fancy his chances of landing the tricky Brazilian.
