Chelsea in talks for Napoli defender

Radio Monte Carlo journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi has revealed via Twitter that Chelsea are in pole position to recruit Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

The 25-year-old has largely impressed since joining the Azzurri from KRC Genk and he could now be set to move in search of green pastures.

Mohamed Bouhafsi has suggested that Chelsea are in talks with Napoli as they hope to lure Koulibaly to Stamford Bridge.

Even though John Terry signed a new one-year deal, new manager Antonio Conte clearly wants to reinforce his back line, and the Senegalese is a player he knows well from Italian Serie A.

According to the Radio Monte Carlo journalist, Everton are Arsenal are keen as well, but they have yet to make concrete moves.

Kalidou Koulibaly, who has four Senegal caps to his name, featured in 60 Serie A games for Napoli, scoring one goal in the process.
