Premier League holders Chelsea could make a shock move for former Tottenham and Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Blues are set to announce Guus Hiddink as their next manager, but the club officials are already working on January reinforcements.

The Daily Mirror has suggested that Chelsea have plans to lure Emmanuel Adebayor to Stamford Bridge and they have already held talks with his representatives.

West Ham and Watford are also believed to be keen on the Togolese striker, who has been enjoying life away from football since he was released by Tottenham.

Despite the lack of action, Chelsea clearly believe Adebayor still has what it takes to perform at the highest level and seem ready to offer him a short-term contract.

The 31-year-old represented the likes of Arsenal, Man City and Tottenham in England, bagging a total of 96 Premier League goals.

PSG close on Sofiane Boufal

Le Parisien has learned that Paris Saint-Germain are hot on the trail of Lille hotshot Sofiane Boufal.

The Saints have been watching the talented winger in action from the very start to the season and they look set to make their interest concrete.

PSG officials see Boufal as a perfect long-term replacement for Ezequiel Lavezzi, who will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Saints are eager to wrap up the deal before other interested sides have time to act, and they will probably loan the 22-year-old back to Lille until June as les Dogues desperately need their star player in the second part of the season.

Sofiane Boufal has shown a great deal of promise since joining Lille from Angers a year ago, netting 7 times in 28 league appearances.

After finally getting their league campaign back on track, les Dogues are 2/1 shot to defeat Toulouse on the road and make it four wins on the bounce.

Wolfsburg lead chase for Didavi

Bundesliga giants Wolfsburg are stepping up their efforts to recruit Stuttgart hotshot Daniel Didavi, Bild can reveal.

The Wolves have been keeping close tabs on the 25-year-old for quite some time and they appear to have persuaded him to move to Volkswagen Arena.

Didavi’s agents have held a number of meetings with Wolfsburg as they edge closer to agreeing a long-term deal for their client.

As a result, the highly rated footballer is expected to join the Wolves when his contract comes to an end in the summer, but a January switch is also a realistic possibility.

It would probably take around €3.5 million to get the midfielder in January, so it is clear that Wolfsburg have a decision to make.

Didavi has been by far Stuttgart’s best player this season, having scored 5 goals in 15 Bundesliga outings.
