Chelsea join race for Nolito

El Periodico Mediterraneo understands that Premier League holders Chelsea are among clubs hot on the trail of Celta Vigo star Nolito.

It is believed that Barcelona and Arsenal lead the chase for the Spain international, who has been in stunning form ever since he joined the Sky Blues from Benfica two years ago.

And it has now been revealed that Chelsea, Everton and few more Premier League sides have joined the race as well, with no fewer than nine English clubs sending their scouts to watch Nolito in weekend’s triumph over Villarreal.

The highly rated attacker scored a last-gasp winner to make it six goals in eight La Liga games this season, at the same time helping Celta climb to second in the league standings.

With Nolito having managed 33 goals and 19 assists in 82 appearances for the Sky Blues and his release clause standing at mere €18 million, a January exit seems on the horizon.
