Chelsea keen to keep hold of Azpilicueta

Chelsea are confident of keeping hold of Cesar Azpilicueta amid interest from Barcelona, according to the Mail Online.

The Spain international was an ever present for Antonio Conte’s side as they stormed to the Premier League title, and he was the only man to play every minute of their league campaign.

He even chipped in with a goal, netting in the 4-3 win over Watford in the penultimate game of the season.

New Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde is a big admirer of the twenty-seven year old but has little chance of striking a deal with the full-back contracted until 2020 and happy with life in London.

Since signing from Marseille in the summer of 2012, Azplilcueta has racked up two hundred and twenty-five appearances for the London club, scoring five goals.

He was also part of the squad that won the Premier League in 2015 and also the Europa League two years earlier.
