Chelsea linked with Valencia striker Villa

According to various reports in the British press, Premier League club Chelsea are ready to move for Valencia’s David Villa at the end of the season.

British tabloids The Sun and The Daily Mail claim that the Blues are willing to pay €44.6 million (£40m) for the Spanish international striker, while The Daily Express suggest they may offer as much as €50m (£45m).

The 27-year-old recently insisted that he has no plans to leave the Mestalla and will see out his current contract, which runs until 2014.
