Chelsea ready to release Wright-Phillips

According to the Telegraph, Chelsea has put Shaun Wright Phillips up for sale with an asking price of £9million.

Everton, Portsmouth and Manchester City are touted to be the suitors for the 26-year old right-winger.

Son of famous footballer Ian Wright, the English international first starred at Manchester City and made a £21 million move to Stamford Bridge in 2005. He never fully cemented his place in the team and was usually used in rotation with Joe Cole. With the departure of Mourinho his apperances seemed to dwindle even more.

Now with the coming of new manager Luiz Scolari, it seems that Phillips does not figure in his plans, with the Brazilian coach hot in pursuit of his countryman Robinho.
