Premiership side Chelsea have signed free agent Mineiro. The Brazilian was out of contract since the end of last season.
Mineiro, 33 years old, played for Ponte Preta, Sao Caetano and Sao Paulo before joining Hertha BSC in 2007.
But 36 appearances and two goals later, the player hadn’t been given a new contract by the Berlin outfit.
The midfielder was attracted to reduce Chelsea’s injury worries. Michael Essien is out for six months while Deco currently recovers from a minor injury as well.
