Following Steve Clarke’s move to West Ham United, Chelsea were left without a first-team coach. But, it now seems that they have a found a replacement in Ray Wilkins, according to a report in The Daily Mail.
Wilkins, Chelsea’s youngest ever captain and a former Manchester United player, has been on the coaching staff at Chelsea during Gianluca Vialli’s stint as manager, but departed along with the manger in 2000, according to the same report.
Last night, Wilkins denied that a deal has already been put in place, but the BBC now reports that he has been hired as a first-team coach with immediate effect.
