Chelsea sign Felipe Luis

Chelsea have completed the signing of Felipe Luis from Atletico Madrid, according to Talksport.

The left-back made thirty-two La Liga appearances for Diego Simeone’s side on route to clinching the Spanish top flight title alongside Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and striker Diego Costa, who completed his move to Stamford Bridge this week.

The trio also received Champions League runners-up medals after losing the final in dramatic circumstances to city rivals Real Madrid in May.

Luis is set to fill the void left by veteran England international Ashley Cole, who himself left the London club to join Serie A side Roma on a free transfer this month.

Chelsea have also signed Spain international Cesc Fabregas and Croatia U21 midfielder Mario Pasalic in the close season as they look to build on last season’s third place finish.

They begin the forthcoming campaign next month at newly promoted Burnley, where they can be backed at 2/5 for the win.
