Chelsea step up Cavani chase

Daily Mail is reporting that Premier League holders Chelsea have made Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani their number one priority.

New manager Antonio Conte plans to recruit a world-class striker in the summer and it would appear as though the Uruguayan is the number one name on his hit-list.

Even though Manchester United and Juventus are also keen on his services, it is believed that Chelsea lead the chase at the moment.

It is no secret that Cavani plans to leave Parc des Princes in the summer due to the fact that he is getting tired of being played out of position.

Despite the fact he is mostly used on the wing, the Uruguayan has scored 46 goals in 90 league appearances for the Saints.

And having previously bagged 78 goals in 104 Serie A fixtures while at Napoli, it is hardly surprising that top European clubs are casting admiring glances his way.
