Chelsea still keeping tabs on Remy

A report from Talk Sport today suggests that Chelsea are keen to try and sign Marseille striker Loic Remy in the January transfer window.

The European Champions had been linked with Remy during the summer window, but a deal was never done and it was thought that they had lost interest in him.

However, Roberto Di Matteo wants to add to his strike force in the New Year and believes that 25-year-old would be the perfect man to bring in to add competition for places up-front. At the moment, Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge are the only out-and-out strikers at Stamford Bridge.

It is thought that the English Premier League side will monitor his performances over the coming months, and then decide whether to submit a bid in January. £15 million is the fee that Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer.

Di Matteo has of course, had a lot of success in signing players from Ligue 1, as Eden Hazard has started life in England extremely well.

Even though Remy has not featured much this campaign, he is still regarded as a top quality forward that could really shine when playing alongside the players that Chelsea have at their disposal.
