French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Premier League holders Chelsea attempted to recruit Paul Pogba last summer.
Many believe that the France hotshot will soon become the world’s most expensive footballer, with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all considering their moves.
But, L’Equipe claims that Chelsea are the only side to have sent a formal offer for the Juventus star so far.
The Blues namely offered between €90m and €95m for the highly rated footballer, who was reportedly tempted by the move to Stamford Bridge.
However, Pogba eventually remained in Turin, although there is a chance he will be leaving as early as next summer.
The 23-year-old will be one of the leading players in the France national team at the Euro 2016 finals and he can definitely put himself in the shop window with strong performances at the biggest stage next summer.
