Chelsea target rejects new contract

Dani Alves has rejected the latest contract offer from Barcelona and the Catalans are becoming increasingly worried that they will lose the Brazilian full-back.

The renewal of Dani Alves’ contract which expires in June 2012 is in real danger after the Brazilian and his representatives rejected the latest contract offer.

The differences between the two sides seem to be pretty big at the moment with the Brazilian asking €1.5 million per year more than Barca are ready to offer.

The Catalans are now in a difficult position as they are aware that Alves’ suitors Chelsea and Manchester City have the means to offer him a much better deal than Barca, and they are now afraid of losing one of the key players in the side.
