Chelsea are ready to offer defender Ashley Cole a new four-year contract worth a massive £27million.
Cole has in recent days been linked with a £20million move to Champions League title holders Barcelona and the Blues are desperate to fend off the interest from the Spanish giants.
The 28-year-old will earn £130,000-a-week from his new deal, according to The Sun.
A Chelsea club source told The Sun: “One of the first things Mr Ancelotti said when arriving at the club was not to allow Ashley to leave.
“He is aware that Barcelona rate him extremely highly and Guardiola sees the left-back position as the team’s only weak link.
“We’re extremely hopeful that Ashley will stay at Chelsea.”
