Chelsea want Lukaku back

London Evening Standard is reporting that Chelsea are keen on bringing Everton striker Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

The Blues will soon need to find a replacement for Diego Costa, who seems determined to move to China and the Belgian has again emerged as their top target.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has been impressed with Lukaku’s performances at Everton and he has asked the club officials to try and agree a deal for the 23-year-old footballer.

And while the striker seems ready to consider a return to Stamford Bridge, he may be priced out of the move as Everton are referring interested sides to his £80 million release clause.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will eventually manage to find an agreement, but having climbed to the top of the Premier League goalscoring charts, Lukaku is rightly considered one of league’s leading strikers.
