Chelsea’s fear for Hazard

After going out of the Champions League in the round of 16 at the hands of Barcelona, Chelsea fear they are set to lose Eden Hazard in the summer should they fail to finish in a top-four spot, the Mirror have reported.

The London Blues are currently sitting fifth, four points off Liverpool in fourth despite the Reds’ defeat to arch-rivals Manchester United last weekend, and are yet to face Jürgen Klopp’s team as well as Tottenham Hotspur who are in third place, both at Stamford Bridge.

With no shortage of clubs interested in his services, Hazard may decide to seek Champions League football for himself next season if Chelsea don’t qualify for Europe’s elite club competition.

Another Chelsea player that is in a similar position is his compatriot, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who has been heavily linked with Real Madrid. The Belgian duo has been an important part of the team for Chelsea in two title-winning seasons, and losing them both would definitely be a sore blow.
