The Kansas City Chiefs have made it four straight wins in the NFL with a 23-20 victory over the San Diego Chargers in overtime on Monday.
Ryan Succop’s 30-yard field goal saw the Chiefs move into a three-way tie atop the AFC West, equal with the Chargers and the Oakland Raiders.
The Chargers had trailed for the majority of the contest but looked set to win when they were 15 yards from the Kansas City line with under a minute remaining.
But Philip Rivers fumbled the snap and Chiefs’ Andy Studebaker gained possession for Kansas City.
They went for the win in regulation time, but quarterback Matt Cassel (19 of 32 for 261 yards and one touchdown) was intercepted by Eric Weddle.
The Chargers won the toss but failed to find a first down, before Cassel led Kansas City to within range, setting up Succop’s three-pointer with five minutes 16 seconds remaining.
Rivers completed 26 of 41 passes for 369 yards, but was also intercepted twice.
