Chiellini urges defensive improvement

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has warned his Juventus team-mates of the need to improve defensively.

The Italian champions kept their second clean sheet in the league this season in their 1-0 victory over rivals Torino on Sunday.

However, Chiellini believes that Antonio Conte’s side have shown weaknesses at the back during the campaign so far.

“We have to improve in certain aspects,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“We’ve conceded a few goals this season thanks to a lack of focus from ourselves, even if we have managed to win almost all of our games.

“Saying that, against Torino, we ran no risks at all at the back.”

Juventus host Galatsaray in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday and Milan in Serie A on Sunday.

Conte’s men have not lost since the final game of last season – a 3-2 defeat against Sampdoria.
