City join chase for Matuidi; Dusan Tadic open to Twente exit

Radio Monte Carlo is reporting that Manchester City are preparing a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

The Citizens have been following the France international for quite a while and they plan to pair him with newest addition Fernandinho.

Paris Saint-Germain chiefs are obviously reluctant to sell one of their key players, but with Matuidi’s deal expiring in June 2014 and new contract talks not really progressing according to plan, they might be forced into selling.

The player himself recently suggested he was happy at Parc des Princes, but a lucrative offer from Premier League giants would certainly be difficult to resist.

Blaise Matuidi joined PSG from Saint Etienne two years ago and has since scored 6 goals in 66 Ligue 1 matches.

He has also managed to nail down a regular starting berth in the national team and is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top holding midfielders.

Dusan Tadic open to Twente exit

Twente star Dusan Tadic has admitted he could leave the club in the summer amidst speculations linking him with a move away from the club.

The Serbian midfielder has been in scintillating form ever since he joined the club from Groningen and has in turn been linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs.

Twente’s failure to clinch European qualification could push the player towards the exit door as he admits he is open to moving clubs.

“I feel good at FC Twente, but I am a professional and if a good offer for me and the club arrives then we have to go to the table,” Tadic said to De Telegraaf.

“There is a lot of interest, but so far I have left everything to my manager. If there is something concrete, he will inform me.”

After finishing his first season at the club as Eredivisie top assist-maker, Tadic has continued with amazing displays this season, registering 13 goals and 14 assists in 37 league matches for the Tukkers.

Marseille keen on Lille hotshot

French newspaper L’Equipe understands Marseille are ready to make a move on Lille midfielder Florian Thauvin.

One of France’s most talented players was signed by les Dogues in January, but a six-month loan allowed him to finish the season at Bastia.

With Thauvin due to report at Grand Stade Lille Metropole, L’Equipe has suggested the player might leave Lille without even wearing their jersey.

Namely, Marseille are showing interest in the highly rated footballer and they are preparing a summer bid for his services.

With Lille missing out on Champions League qualification and boss Rudi Garcia leaving, Thauvin is not too keen on staying at the club.

Given that les Dogues are also looking to improve their financial situation after failing to qualify for the Champions League, they might even consider selling the 20-year-old in the summer.

Thauvin has been showing a lot of promise in his first ever top flight season, notching 10 goals in 32 league appearances for Bastia.
