Cole and Lallana linked with Liverpool

The Metro understands that Liverpool are keen to finalise deals for England international duo Adam Lallana and Ashley Cole.

The Reds manager is keen to waste no time as he prepares to strengthen his squad ahead of next season, with club set to compete on four fronts having secured a return to the Champions League after a five year absence.

A figure on £20m has been quoted for Southampton captain Lallana, while Chelsea full back Cole will be available on a free transfer as his contract expires at the end of the season.

Both players are set to be included in Roy Hodgson’s squad for this summer’s World Cup finals, though Rodgers is keen to conclude his business before the tournament begins.

Liverpool are priced at 16/1 to clinch the Premier League title on Sunday afternoon, but for them to do so, they would need to beat Newcastle United and hope that West Ham United can take all three points from their clash with current leaders Manchester City.
