An Alan Pulido hat-trick has helped Tigres thrash Alajuelense 5-0 to move into the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Elias Hernandez opened the scoring in the sixth minute and the Mexicans were 3-0 up at half-time after goals from Juninho and Pulido.

Pulido completed his hat-trick with further goals in the second half of the Group 6 clash at Estadio Universitario.

The win saw Tigres book a spot in the last eight, finishing top of the group ahead of the Costa Ricans.

The Seattle Sounders completed their perfect showing in Group 4 with a 3-1 win over Honduran outfit Marathon.

Samuel Ochoa and Steve Zakuani were on the scoresheet inside 27 minutes, before Mitchel Brown pulled a goal back for the visitors.

But the MLS side sealed the win with a quarter of an hour to play thanks to a David Estrada goal.

Santos Laguna made it four from four in Group 1 as a Herculez Gomez goal gave the Mexican team a 1-0 win over Toronto.
