Panama jumped to the top of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying standings with a 2-0 win over Honduras in Panama City.

Luis Tejada put the home side ahead in the second minute and Blas Perez extended their advantage with a second goal on 75 minutes.

Panama lead the group with five points from three games ahead of Honduras and Costa Rica, who defeated Jamaica 2-0.

The loss continued Jamaica’s winless start to qualifying for Brazil 2014.

Michael Umana opened the scoring from close range on 22 minutes and Diego Calvo made sure of the points in San Jose with a second in the 82nd minute.

The United States played out a goalless draw with Mexico.
