Juventus coach Antonio Conte was pleased to walk away with a point from their tough clash with Udinese in the Serie A on Wednesday.

Both teams battled to a goalless draw that saw Juventus go level on points with AC Milan, who have a superior goal difference at the top of the Serie A.

Udinese remain third, two points behind Juve, and had their 100 percent home record at Stadio Friuli broken.

“These are the two best defences in Serie A and my team proved its solidity in every respect,” said Juve manager Antonio Conte.

“It’s not everyone who can come to Udine and take the initiative. Let us not forget that last season Udinese finished ahead of us in the standings.”

“Simone Pepe had a great game and I am satisfied with Alessandro Matri’s performance, in which his movement off the ball worked perfectly.”

“We studied Udinese carefully and they did the same with us. In football nowadays you have to be organised and prepared for every situation.”

“You can’t give your opponents even half a chance and that is the secret of our success. We never stopped looking for the victory here and proved we are a team with a capital T.”

Udinese manager Francesco Guidolin blamed his side’s lacklustre performance at home against Juve on the ‘disrespectful’ fixture list that his side have had to endure.

The game was Udinese’s third important match in five days as they played Celtic in the Europa League on 15 December, Lazio three days later and then Juventus.

“Juventus adapted to our tactical system in a bid to win the game,” said Guidolin.

“We played our third game in five days. If this is humane then I’ll be gone soon. This is a lack of respect for football, the sport and the fans. We played three Cup finals in five days and 21 hours.”

Guidolin’s frustrations got the better of him as he was sent off for dissent in the final minutes of the game.

“I got angry with the Juve players who didn’t put the ball out of play when we had someone down injured. I am not using a fake fair play,” he said.

“In my view it was a balanced encounter and I compliment my squad. I’m satisfied with this point.”
