Roma sporting director Bruno Conti admits he regret selling Cristian Chivu to Serie A rivals Inter.
“I regret getting rid of Chivu more than [Amantino] Mancini,” Conti told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
“The Romanian is a great player and an extraordinary person.
“We have been going through a tough period, injuries, disqualified players but the worst is over and now Roma can fight with everyone.â€Â
Conti also denied there is a rift between himself and coach Luciano Spalletti.
He continued: “Me and Spalletti? The coach has given everything to Roma, good football, success and a working culture. Those who say there is no more feeling between me and Spalletti are liars.”
Inter will face Roma at the stadio Olimpico on Sunday night.
