Union Espanola clinched a place in the Copa Libertadores group stages after completing a 3-2 aggregate win over Tigres on Thursday.
Heading into the clash in Mexico with a 1-0 lead, Union Espanola came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw in the second leg.
A brace from Alan Pulido in the first 22 minutes put Tigres ahead in the tie in front of their home fans.
The striker headed in the opener after a cross from midfielder Alberto Joshimar Acosta, before he capitalised on a defensive error for the second.
But the game turned eight minutes before half time when Tigres centre-back Jose Rivas was sent off for bringing down Gonzalo Barriga in the penalty area.
Emanuel Herrera made no mistake with the spot kick.
Union Espanola midfielder Mauro Diaz was sent off when he collected two yellow cards in the space of four minutes just after the hour mark.
But forward Sebastian Jaime levelled the scores with his 70th-minute header as the Chilean side secured a place in Group 3.
They will meet Bolivar, Colombian side Junior and fellow Chileans Universidad Catolica in the group.
In the other tie, Uruguayan giants Penarol cruised through after a 1-1 draw at Caracas handed them a 5-1 aggregate win.
Winger Fabian Estoyanoff drilled in the opener on 27 minutes to make it 5-0 on aggregate, before Venezuela’s Caracas scored a late consolation goal through an Edwin Peraza header.
Awaiting Penarol in Group 8 are 2011 Copa Sudamericana champions Universidad de Chile, Colombia’s Atletico Nacional and Argentina’s Godoy Cruz.
