Thiago Ribeiro scored a hat-trick as Cagliari defeated Pescara 4-2 at home to set up a Coppa Italia fifth round trip to Juventus.
Ribeiro put the hosts ahead after just six minutes at Stadio Is Arena, tapping in Victor Ibarbo’s pass at the back post.
Ibarbo picked up his second assist of the match when he sent a defence-splitting pass through for Ribeiro to slide the ball past Pescara gloveman Ivan Pelizzoli.
Pescara got back into the game on 33 minutes after Cagliari goalkeeper Vlada Avramov brought down Gaston Brugman inside the penalty area with Emmanuel Cascione stepping up to convert the spot kick.
Both sides wasted a spate of chances after the interval, but Ribeiro proved the difference with the Brazilian completing his hat-trick in the 61st minute with another tap-in.
Mauricio Pinilla extended the buffer 16 minutes later with a glancing header and despite Vladimir Weiss pulling a goal back for the visitors, Cagilari saw out the contest to book a meeting with the Serie A champions.
