Lazio have qualified for the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia, with a second-half double from midfielder Hernanes powering a 3-0 win over Catania.
The 27-year-old midfielder took his season tally to 10 goals thanks to two fine passes from striker Sergio Floccari as Lazio cruised past their Serie A rivals on Tuesday.
Lazio, who sit eight spots above Catania in Italy’s top flight, took the lead in the 30th minute when Lorik Cana’s corner was headed home at the near post by Romanian defender Stefan Radu.
Hernanes doubled the home side’s lead just after the hour mark when he tapped home Floccari’s cutback after the striker burst down the left.
In second-half injury time, Hernanes wrapped up the victory, sprinting onto Floccari’s pass to finish past Catania goalkeeper Alberto Frison.
Lazio will meet either Juventus or Milan in the semi-finals.
