On Friday it will be a battle of top vs bottom when Corinthians welcome a struggling Millonarios side to Sau Paulo in Group G’s Copa Libertadores qualifying campaign.

For Osmar Lamos’ Corinthians side, the defending Brazilian Serie A champions have enjoyed another impressive year both domestically and in the Copa Libertadores. Now on a five-match unbeaten run, the hosts are just two points adrift of top spot in Brazil and with a three-point advantage over Independiente in Group G, Corinthians have already confirmed their spot in the knockout stages. One of the key men to watch for the hosts will be attacking midfielder Jadson, the 34-year-old now has five goals in his five matches in Group D.

As for Miguel Ángel Russo’s Millonarios side, despite an impressive season in Columbia last year, the visitors have spent the majority of the year flirting with mid-table and now sit bottom of Group G and if they can not better Deportivo Lara’s result then they will crash out of this years Copa Libertadores. If Millonarios are to pull of an upset victory away in Sau Paulo on Friday they will be reliant on forward Ayron del Valle, while they may sit bottom of Group G, the 29-year-old has scored four in his five group games. However, in the three meetings between the two sides, Millonarios have failed to win any of those outings and have also failed to score a single goal in those three matches.
