Newly crowned world champions Corinthians will be full of confidence ahead of their Copa Libertadores title defence.

Corinthians won entrance into the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup after winning the Copa last year, defeating Boca Juniors 3-1 on aggregate in the final.

And against the world’s best, Corinthians did more than hold their own as they defeated English Premier League giants Chelsea 1-0 in the final.

They will begin the defence of their Copa Libertadores title in Group 5, which contains Bolivian side San Jose, Colombian heavyweights Millionairos and Tijuana of Mexico.

Boca Juniors have been placed in Group 1 alongside Uruguayan outfit Nacional, Ecuador’s Barcelona and Mexican side Toluca.

There are still six remaining places up for grabs in the tournament, with 26 of a possible 32 sides already having qualified for the group stages.
