Cornelius dreaming of EPL move; Cissokho welcomes Liverpool rumours

FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius is reportedly attracting interest from the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United

FC Copenhagen striker Andreas Cornelius has welcomed speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League amid reports Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in him, Sky Sports understands.

Cornelius, 19, has impressed scouts from Arsenal and United with is performances for the Danish giants after breaking into the first-team this season.

Italian duo Inter Milan and Juventus are also said to be keen on the Denmark international, but the striker seems to prefer a move to England.

Like compatriot Nicklas Bendtner, Cornelius is a big, physically-gifted striker with a tremendous eye for goal.

Bendtner, a native of Copenhagen, went on to join Arsenal from Danish side Kjøbenhavns Boldklub in the summer of 2004.

“I think that the Premier League is the best league in the world and I would love to play there,” Cornelius told bold.dk.

“It would be like a dream coming true. But there is still a long way and I still have plenty to learn.

“I have a contract with Copenhagen for the next four years so that seems like a good time frame for me, although things change quickly in football so you never know.”

The 19-year-old, whose current contract expires in the summer of 2016, has scored 15 goals in 27 appearances this season.

Cissokho welcomes Liverpool rumours

Valencia left-back Aly Cissokho has revealed he would be open to a summer move to England, with Liverpool said to be keen on the France international, Sky Sports reports.

Cissokho, 25, has been linked with a move to Anfield on several occasions over the past few seasons.

It is believed that the Reds’ bitter Merseyside rivals Everton as well as Sunderland are also keen on the Frenchman.

Everton may pursue the 25-year-old as an insurance policy for Leighton Baines, while Sunderland are just simply in need of defensive reinforcements in the form of full-backs.

“I’ve never hidden the fact that the English league is the one that attracts me the most. It’s pleasing to see my name linked with Liverpool,” Cissokho told Le Parisien.

“They’re a great club, and not just anyone can wear that shirt. But it is still just an article in a newspaper.”

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has utilized the likes of Glen Johnson, Jose Enrique and Stewart Downing at left-back this season.

The 25-year-old, who joined Valencia CF on a four-year deal from French giants Lyon in August 2012, has scored two goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for Los Che this season.

Well, there are good full backs in Liverpool but Aly’s arrival would rise the competition. Glen Johnson, Andre Wisdom, Martin Kelly, Luis Enrique and maybe Cissokho. I’m OK with that. 🙂
