Lyon captain Cris insists that he no intention of leaving the Stade de Gerland, despite criticism from club president Jean-Michel Aulas.
Aulas lashed out a number of the Ligue 1 outfit’s highest earners, including the former Brazil international, during an interview with Le Progres earlier this month.
Cris, though, insists he was not offended by Aulas’ outburst and fully intends to honour his current deal with the club.
“I still have a year on my contract,” the veteran defender told Canal Plus. “I am still Lyonnais; for the moment, I’m staying.
“Jean-Michel Aulas has said things; I accept that. But I am professional and I will continue to work. After all, I have another year left.”
The 35-year-old Cris, who has been capped 16 times by Brazil, joined Lyon from Cruzeiro in 2004.
