Rafael Benitez have been told that he must sell some players before he can start buying some more. At first it looked like Crouch was leaving in the January transfer window with Manchester City and Newcastle leading the way. But he remained and it looks like he will finally be sold this summer.
Liverpool are looking to add Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry to their ranks, but most likely the owners would not sanction such a move without Benitez selling some of their players first.
According to Benitez, “A £15m price tag would not be unreasonable.” Portsmouth have recently expressed their interest in Crouch but might be put off by the high price tag. It has also been confirmed that Harry Kewell will leave Liverpool this summer.
