Premier League high flyers Crystal Palace have emerged as favourites to land former Newcastle United defender David Santon, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 25-year-old was recently on the verge of joining Sunderland, but the deal ultimately failed to materialise.
However, a return to English Premier League may be on the cards as Crystal Palace are ready to submit an official proposal for the full-back’s services.
The offer should arrive by the end of the day and chances are that Inter Milan will not stand in the player’s way as he looks to leave in search of first team football.
Serie A outfit Sampdoria are also in the mix, but the defender reportedly favours a Premier League return.
Davide Santon has plenty of Premier League experience having spent three years at Newcastle United, making 82 league appearances and scoring one goal, while he featured in 12 Serie A fixtures for Inter Milan last term.
