Crystal Palace to turn to Afobe to solve goal scoring woes

There is little point skirting around the issue; Crystal Palace have been abysmal this season. The Eagles currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table, level on points with equally awful Swansea, with a goal difference of -17. With just eight goals scored throughout this entire campaign, the London club are in serious need of a consistent striker, especially following the injury to Christian Benteke.

The man who could be set to offer Palace some salvation is none other than Bournemouth forward Benik Afobe, according to the Bournemouth Echo. The Congolese international has 11 goals in his 60 appearances for the Cherries, which isn’t the most inspiring tally, but at this point the Eagles will take anyone who can kick a ball, especially if that person also has Premier League experience.

The promising thing for Palace fans is that their side is still just one win from safety, and the addition of a goal scorer could be the spark they need to turn their season around. Mind you, they had better begin dealing with their leaky defence too.
