Cuadrado negotiating Fiorentina exit; Dutch defender reveals PSG offer

Fiorentina officials are currently negotiating a new deal with Juan Guillermo Cuadrado’s agents, La Nazione can reveal.

The Colombian was widely expected to quit Viola for a top European club in the summer, but there were no clubs prepared to match club’s €40 million valuation.

But, even though Cuadrado ultimately remained at Artemio Franchi, Fiorentina officials are well aware he is likely to leave in the near future and they are looking to secure the best possible deal.

Viola aim to offer the winger a new and improved deal that would also contain a €40 million release clause, and the talks over a new contract have already begun.

But, while Cuadrado’s agents agree the buy-out clause should be included, they will attempt to lower the amount as much as possible.

Fiorentina didn’t enjoy the best of starts to the new league campaign, but they are 4/9 to see off Guingamp in the Europa League clash.

Dutch defender reveals PSG offer

Dutch full-back Gregory van der Wiel has suggested that the Saints want him to sign a new contract at Parc des Princes.

The former Ajax starlet has another two years left on his current deal, and he was linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window.

But, he now reveals that the club officials are set to offer him a contract extension and he is almost certain to accept the proposal.

“There has indeed been contact, the management wants me to sign a new contract,” van der Wiel told Voetbal International.

“And I feel the same way. I am at an absolute top club so what more could I want?”

Gregory van der Wiel, 26, joined from Ajax two years ago and he needed a while to nail down a regular starting berth.

He has become the first choice right-back following the departure of Christophe Jallet and now aims to cement his place in the side.

Daniel Wass in quit hint

Danish full-back Daniel Wass is hoping to leave Evian in the January transfer window, according to his official representative.

Following a thoroughly impressive season at Parc des Sports, the 25-year-old was heavily linked with a summer move away from the club.

Marseille, Monaco and Saint Etienne were among his suitors, but the player ultimately remained with les Roses.

Evian would only sell at the right price, and the player’s agent admits the interested sides could not afford his client. Nevertheless, he expects Wass to be moving clubs in the January transfer window.

“He is a player of Champions League level, but the clubs interested in him could not afford him,” Laurent Schmitt told Eurosport.

“It’s in his best interest to stay for another six months so as to attract interest of the most exclusive clubs.”

Having mostly been used as a right winger last season, Wass managed 9 goals in 38 league outings, while he has already bagged two league goals this term.
