Dani Alves to be offered new Barca contract

Catalan daily Sport has learned that Barcelona will be offering full-back Daniel Alves a new deal after all.

The Catalans were initially ready to let the Brazilian leave on a free transfer at the end of the season and hoped to lure Danilo Luiz da Silva from FC Porto.

But, with the youngster valued at €30 million by the Dragons, Barcelona officials have been forced to explore other avenues.

According to the latest reports, they are ready to try and persuade Dani Alves to extend his stay at Camp Nou seeing as coach Luis Enrique as well as the technical department is perfectly satisfied with his recent showings.

The 31-year-old is reportedly ready to stay with the Catalans for another couple of years despite some lucrative offers from abroad.

Dani Alves has been at Barcelona since 2008 and has so far managed 14 goals in 207 La Liga appearances for the club.
